Ferrari Tipo F101AC V12 Engine – 4.4L Quad-Cam Colombo – Engine No. ☆00941☆
This Ferrari Tipo F101AC V12 engine is a correct and highly desirable example of Ferrari’s Colombo-derived 4.4-liter quad-cam V12, originally developed for early-1970s front-engine grand tourers. The engine was removed from a Ferrari under previous ownership and was subsequently acquired by the current seller in 2023, where it has remained in storage.
The Tipo F101AC was factory-rated at 335 horsepower and represents a key evolution of the Colombo V12 lineage, bridging the gap between the earlier 4.0L variants and the later 4.8L and 4.9L engines used in the 400 and 412. These engines are increasingly sought after for correct restorations, drivetrain replacements, and high-end Ferrari collections.
Ferrari produced the F101AC between 1971 and 1976 for installation in the Ferrari 365 GTC/4 and Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2. This example retains its correct engine number stamping ☆00941☆ along with the proper F101AC000 type designation, confirming originality and correct specification.
