Ferrari Tipo F101 E 010 V12 Engine with Automatic Transmission – 4.9L Quad-Cam Colombo – Engine No. ☆00021☆
This Ferrari Tipo F101 E 010 V12 engine and automatic transmission assembly represents the final evolution of Ferrari’s long-running Colombo-derived V12, developed for the Ferrari 412. The engine was originally built for a 412 equipped with a manual gearbox, as confirmed by its correct F101 E 010 type designation, though it is now paired with a three-speed automatic transmission included in this sale.
The selling dealer acquired the engine and transmission in April 2025 from a larger Ferrari parts collection. The drivetrain has been removed from its original vehicle and is offered as a complete unit suitable for restoration, recommissioning, or installation.
Displacing 4.9 liters (4,943cc), the Tipo F101 E was factory-rated at 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, making it the most refined and torquey Colombo V12 ever installed in a front-engine Ferrari grand tourer. Unlike earlier carbureted variants, this engine features Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection, improving drivability, emissions compliance, and cold-start performance.
The engine number ☆00021☆ and F101 E 010 stamping are clearly visible and documented, confirming originality and correct specification for a manual-transmission 412 application.
